If i give a 5 star it's because for me personally it was worth every dollar and more
It's the only hotel in Queenstown that allowed me to check in and pay later in the evening so thank you.
The rooms are spacious, warm and have everything you need.
Super comfy beds and pillows plenty of extra warm blankets.
Been on the corner of a busy road I barely noticed and had such an amazing sleep
The staff were absolutely incredible.

Pretty basic, rooms are dated, housekeeping is not thorough. Ton of stairs to go through from the carpark to the room. Location is bad if you're not driving, and even if you drive, the parking lots are tiny.

I booked a twin room at Garden Court Queenstown and confirmed in writing via Agoda on March24–27that I required standard twin beds. The hotel explicitly agreed to this configuration with no extra charge, confirming they understood my request.

Upon arrival, I was provided with beds only 90cm wide—far narrower than the standard twin size expected in New Zealand. I expressed concern about falling out of bed and asked front desk staff member : Jessie Rowe and Katie Jarrett to check the room with me. Katie completely refused to come to my room and instead insisted I come to the front desk. When I persisted, she made an inappropriate and unsubstantiated claim that she and Jessie feared for their safety, which was insulting and unnecessary.

The hotel later claimed that 90cm is “New Zealand standard twin size,” but this directly contradicts their written agreement to provide standard twin beds during the booking process.

During my complaint, the hotel manager avoided addressing the core issue of misrepresentation and only defended his staff. I escalated this to Marsden Group’s senior management, but no meaningful response was received.

Potential guests should be aware:

• The hotel misrepresents bed sizes.

• They fail to honor written booking confirmations.

• Staff will refuse to assist with legitimate issues and use unreasonable excuses

I stayed here in April 2025 in a Two Bed Balcony room. The room was clean and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the in room laundry was so useful. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were good, although one bathroom was considerably smaller than the other. The apartment is a split level with one bedroom and bathroom upstairs and the other on the main floor. The unit itself is on the second floor with no elevator. The website photos make this clear, but just keep in mind if you have mobility challenges or lots of luggage.

Location is excellent. Walking into the main part of Queenstown was easy, although coming back is quite a hill. It's also located close to bus stops which we used to get to Arrowtown and to the grocery stores near the airport. The reception desk is not 24 hours, so if you're arriving late or leaving early, be sure to let them know. On check out day, we were leaving very early on a tour to our next destination. On check-in we let them know and they showed us where to drop the keys and that our invoice will be emailed. Also, prior to our stay, they emailed us to let us know that there were some renovations taking place on the property during our stay. It affected parking, which wasn't an issue for us as we didn't have a car, but it was great to know about this in advance.

Rooms were small. Without sofa bed out there was no space to move around. Good location and onsite parking was a bonus. Laundry is onsite and had to be paid by NZ coins. Reception won't take card for getting NZ coins.
