Pub on Wharf presents a quintessential Kiwi pub experience, boasting a wonderfully relaxed and cosy atmosphere in the vibrant heart of Queenstown's Steamer Wharf. This establishment truly capitalises on its prime lakeside setting, offering magnificent views across Lake Wakatipu to the Remarkables, which can be enjoyed from both indoor and expansive outdoor seating areas, even with gas heaters and blankets provided during cooler periods. Its lively character is further enhanced by free live entertainment from local musicians, typically running Thursday to Sunday, alongside major sporting events shown on screens, creating a convivial community hub.

The cuisine focuses on hearty, elevated pub fare, blending classic Irish and Kiwi favourites with a diverse menu to suit many tastes. Patrons can enjoy popular dishes such as the rich steak and ale pie, tender lamb shanks, or classic fish and chips. A highlight for some is the unique stonegrill, allowing guests to cook their choice of beef, lamb, or chicken directly at their table. Accompanying these meals is an impressive array of beverages, including local craft beers, world-renowned Guinness, an extensive wine list, and a selection of cocktails and mocktails.

This welcoming pub is an excellent choice for a variety of visitors, from those seeking a casual drink to larger groups gathering for a meal. Had wedges and beers on an amazing patio down in Queenstown. View of the mountains while enjoying some great food! I ordered a Guinness and while they didn’t have any on tap here, our amazing bartender went to their Irish pub attached to grab me one! Cheers.

Great location on the water in downtown with outside seating. Pub has a solid selction of food and the the steak and ale pie was amazing. Big on my chips being hot and with a crunch and no disappointment there.

This spot is right in the centre of where we found ourselves walking majority of the time, great real-estate and easy to get in and get a feed. The other places around here are all of a very specific type of restaurant, but this place is exactly what it says it is. It's a pub, and well it's on the warf. I found myself wanting to try some of the "fantastic" British cuisine and ordered the beef Wellington. I was definitely expecting pretty high quality and I got exactly what I wanted. The food was honestly sensational and tasted great, it may of helped that by this point I'd had 2 of their superior pints but nevertheless I did enjoy my meal. My wife got a BLT and said it was "alright, it's a BLT" so make of that what you will. I definitely recommend it and I definitely recommend the beef Wellington, only true downside was I think its a little under staffed as we had to wait in the empty bar for about 8 min before anyone came out to take our orders. Otherwise the staff were lovely and easy to talk too, just know they are probably under the pump.

Calamri = $19.50 Not to bad price as there was a a decent amouny of pieces and quality was great

Loaded Wedges = $23 Absolutely appalling and criminal size, any pub would give at least double for same or less plus this had literally about 3 little bacon bits total, definitely not LOADED at all.

Pint 590ml = $19.50 ($16.50 for 450ml) expensive but acceptable..

I know this place is on the waterfront but to charge nearly $20 for 590ml beer and to give what should be a $10 serving of loaded wedges for $23 is crazy.

Slightly over $50 for 1 beer and 2 snack menu items...... Wont be returning!

Update: 2nd photo shows what a good loaded wedges looks like, $19 from the Queen Charlotte Tavern who probably serve less then 1/10th of your customers but can manage a portion twice the size.

When you're ready to order you go to the bar and give them your table number. Beef Wellington was sold out, so wifey ordered the lamb shank instead (said it was 4⭐) Mother in law had the Steak & Ale pie 🥧, said it was 3⭐. I had a taste of both and thought they were good. Mother-in-law said the meat in the pie was a "bit odd" for how she is used to eating it; so take that with a grain of salt. Both meals were served hot, good portions, and beautifully presented (See attached pictures).

Large heated outdoor seating area and lots of tables, benches, high tables and seating inside. Nice large leather booths inside add a nice touch.

Entire area was very busy on this late Tuesday afternoon. Lots of fun places to choose from. This one has an Irish pub attached to it, past the main bar, past the restrooms.
