As someone who truly loves beef, I was quite disappointed here. Frankly, a premium steakhouse should do better than my home cook, but that wasn't the case.

Steak was some how over-crusted to the point of being bitter, the meat was dry with zero juiciness, and it lacked that rich, intense beef flavor you'd expect.

While the sauces were good and the service was very nice, the core element just wasn't there. Overall, not an impressive this visit.

Hands down the best steak of the year! Jervois Steak House was the ultimate highlight of our trip. The T-bone was cooked to perfection—crispy crust, tender, and juicy. Paired with their great selection of wines by the glass, it made for an unforgettable dinner. It was a huge hit with the kids, too, so returning for a second night was a no-brainer. We’ll definitely be back whenever we get the chance!

Paid close to $700 for the dinner

The wagyu scotch A5 was the highlight of the meal, although it seemed thin for the price I paid.

The lamb wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be, but still good. Very hard to eat/cut because of the bones, but too barbaric to eat with my hands, especially in such a fine dining atmosphere. No utensils were provided to me to cut this propery.

The bone marrow was heavily disappointing - all I could taste was lemon and raw onion. The seasoning of it was overpowering and gross to the point I didn't want it near me from the strength of it. Couldn't even taste the natural simplicity of the bone marrow, just straight up sour lemon and raw onion.

The wagyu roasted potatoes were good. Nice and crispy
The mashed potato was good, although I feel it could've had more of a kick with garlic.

The staff were really nice, and made sure to deliver drinks when requested, although they kept putting lemons in my drink even after I explicitly asked after the first time to not put lemons in the drink when requested... Made it taste weird and not as enjoyable.

Overall, I would only come back for the steak, but even then it seems too expensive to justify.

We had our last dinner in Queenstown at Jervois. The food was delicious, the steak cooked perfectly rare. We got the chefs board and it was exactly as we imagined. But most importantly what impressed me and led me to writing this review was our lovely waitress Christine. She had asked me if I had just gotten engaged, and I was shocked and said “yes, how did you know?”. She said she had noticed me taking a photo of my ring. (This was a quick moment and not something I saw her see, I was very impressed with this level of detail and attention to her customers. Then she arranged a congratulations desert. It made our engagement trip extremely special and it was so nice to have it recognised. I would definitely recommend and come back. Thank you Christine for making our evening so special.

Absolutely amazing food coming from Australia. The customer service was exceptional from top to bottom. They gave great suggestions for wine and kept the conversations and banter fun. I also want to point out that they helped me check whether I’d lost my camera after closing hours, picking up my call and assisting me without hesitation. If I could give them 100 stars, I would.
