We had to wait about 15 minutes in line and another 30 minutes for our food, and the seating inside was quite limited. Normally that would be a downside, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook.
The burgers were so good that we’re already planning to come back again tomorrow. Highly recommended if you don’t mind a bit of a wait!
It's also one of those places you'll regret not visiting. Mention that you went to Queenstown without trying Fergburger and you'll inevitably get the response: "What? You went to Queenstown and didn't eat at Fergburger?"
The place is absolutely packed at all hours, but credit where it's due—the staff have the queue management system down to a fine art. It's probably a good thing the Ferg empire now occupies what feels like half the street, with Fergburger, Fergbaker, Ferg's Bar, and various other Ferg-related establishments helping absorb the crowds. Even then, people still spill out onto the pavement waiting for their orders.
We ordered takeaway and escaped the crowds by walking down towards the harbour, where we enjoyed our burgers while sharing the occasional crumb with some very interested ducks and seagulls. That turned out to be one of the highlights of the experience.
As for the food, we had the classic Fergburger. It was a very good burger—large, juicy, and satisfying—but I wouldn't personally call it the best burger in the world. Still, the combination of the food, the atmosphere, the hype, and the sense of ticking off a Queenstown rite of passage makes it a worthwhile experience.
People always mention the long queues, but honestly the line moved very quickly and was well organized. We only waited around 10–15 minutes after ordering, which was very reasonable.
I ordered the Fergburger with added Brie cheese and absolutely loved it. The patty was thick, juicy, and full of flavor. My friend ordered the Deluxe Burger, which was also really good.
For drink i order chai latte (not that strong)
The area is nice too, located next to FergBar and the bakery. Definitely worth trying if you’re visiting Queenstown. Will definitely come back. Thanks!
