Beautiful weather, stunning views, and a total must-try if you’re in town!
A few things to know before you go:
• Getting there: It's about a 20-minute drive to Coronet Peak.
• Chairlift: You’ll need a pass to ride up (keep in mind it’s an extra $35 NZD, which I didn’t know in advance).
• The Hike: There’s a short hike up to the peak. Honestly, it was pretty steep and scary if you're afraid of heights or not used to hiking—definitely not for the faint of heart!
Once you’re at the top, though, it is 100% worth it.
My instructor Omar was incredible—experienced, efficient, and super supportive. I was terrified during the hike, but he kept everything totally under control. Once we were in the air, he made me feel so safe that I could actually relax and soak in the views. Also, ask your instructor to do some tricks if you’re into rollercoasters. Pure adrenaline rush.
📸 Pro tip: Pay the extra $90 NZD for photos and videos (~55 photos & 2-3 videos). Omar is a fantastic photographer, and the memories are priceless!
Highly recommended experience! Just be mentally prepared for the steep hike up.
Thank you, Omar! So glad I had you as my instructor. Cheers! 🥂
