Shotover Jet is iconic Queenstown adrenaline at its finest. Blazing fast spins, sharp drifts through the dramatic Shotover Canyon cliffs, constant splashes of icy river water — pure thrills from start to finish.
The pilots are skilled, funny and full of energy, making every high-speed manoeuvre feel safe yet insanely exciting. I came decked out in Kakashi gear for the ride, and it made this already unforgettable canyon jet boat trip even more memorable.
A must-do bucket list activity for anyone visiting Queenstown. 10/10 would race through the canyon again!!
The jet itself is so quick (went up to like 60mph, maybe about 85kmph) and went through all sorts of crazy stretches of the river, driver going through tight bends and drifting round like a champion!
We had time to come down from the intense jetting though by stopping every 5 or so minutes to let another shotover jet past us (which is where I shot this video from).
Honestly if you are in Queenstown this is a must experience (even if the idea of it makes you nervous), absolutely incredible and great fun!
